Day in the Life : July 2013

Saturday was my 'Day in the Life' day for July.  I'm documenting different days of the week each month, so that when I look back on my life in a few years' time, I'll have a good sense of the various things that I was doing at a particular time in my life.  Nothing lasts forever and nothing stays the same, which is one of the reasons why I'm tracking the rhythm of my everyday life.

I was up early on Saturday morning and met Lynn at the Irene Country Market.  It was just 3 degrees, very cold, and I was silly enough to forget my gloves at home.  After some hot coffee, it started to warm up nicely, and it ended up being a great winter's day outdoors.

After strolling around the market, I visited the Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens to buy some aloes. The succulents are in full bloom at the gardens - too gorgeous.

I bought this bird feeder to hang outside my bedroom window;
the Cape Robin is very happy about the suet in the bowl

I bought 2 paintings of aloes by a local artists, to hang in the guest bedroom

Lynn bought some Justine products for me as a 'half year' birthday gift.  We both celebrate our birthdays in January, so it's a looong stretch before we get any gifts again at Christmas time.  We've decided to celebrate a 'half year' birthday in July.

On Saturday afternoon, I enjoyed a back massage, and then relaxed at home for the rest of the day.  Today was a good day.
