Sunset in Africa

This is the sunset over Hartebeespoort Dam, taken last weekend on our scrapbooking retreat...beautiful Africa

I will be taking an extended blog break during the next 2 months or so.  I have a monster workload to get through in my day job before the end of the year, and I will be travelling quite a bit until about mid November.  I am just spread too thin in my work and in my private life, with always too much on my to-do list.  I don't want to feel like blogging is just another thing that I have to do.

And so I am using the power of choice.  I am choosing where to focus my attention and my time and my energy and my love and my resources.  I am stepping back a bit and looking at what needs to be changed and pruned in my life.

The blog break will also give me a bit of time off to get excited about blogging again.

See you soon.

Scrapbooking retreat

The 5 Scrap Addicts spent last weekend at Good Shepherd retreat near Hartebeespoort Dam.  We usually share a scrap queen gift on our weekends away, but this time, we each had to design a double page layout for everyone in the group.  W O W!!  I was blown away at how talented everyone in the group is.  I know that we are all great scrapbookers, but now we are also scrap page designers! I'll share some of the pages with you later in the week.

Day in the Life - September

This month, I chose to record an ordinary work day which includes my monthly trip to Cape Town.  I'm up by 5 and out of the house on the way to Lanseria airport just after 6.  I usually take the 07h55 flight to Cape Town on Kulula, and arrive in Cape Town just before 10h00; after collecting a hired car from Avis, I drive to the office and start a day of meetings.

However, on this trip, I first popped in to see a B&B on the coast where I will be holidaying for 10 days in October, and then visited a scrapbook shop to buy supplies for an upcoming scrapbook retreat with the Scrap Addicts group.

"Where are you going mom?  Take me with you...pleeeease"

wide awake, packed and ready to roll at 05h45

the B&B is just off to the left in Camps Bay; I'll have the sea in front of me and the mountains at my back for 10 days

Weekend in Review

I have very few weekends where I am at home and have some time to potter around and go slowly.  This was one of those rare weekends.  A friend installed a rain water tank for me and I did a few things in the garden.  Otherwise, I caught up on a few taped programs on my PVR, read a bit and then uncluttered my bedroom.  I need many more more weekends just like this...
