Cape Town Aquarium

After our trip out to Robben Island, we headed to the flat in Blouberg and got down to some serious scrapbooking for the next few days.  The 4 of us who traveled from Joburg were very impressed with our packing skills - we had everything that we needed to be able to scrap comfortably.  The wind howled and the weather turned cool over the weekend - perfect scrapbooking weather!

this was the gorgeous view from the flat while we scrapbooked

On Monday morning, we sadly packed up our scrapbooking supplies, and headed to the V&A Waterfront to visit the Aquarium before having a final meal together and saying goodbye to Lynette

And so our much anticipated scrapbooking trip comes to a close.  We miss you already my friend!  Lynette will be coming to Joburg to scrap with us in December.

Robben Island

While in Cape Town on our recent scrapbooking trip, we took the ferry out to Robben Island.  The wind was howling and a cold wind blew but we were just fine.

That's Robben Island off in the distance, about 7,5km's from Cape Town (I took this photo from the top of Table Mountain)

This is definitely a trip that every South African should make as a first hand account of part of our country's troubled history.  The visit affected us deeply, and we all agreed that we want to know more about the struggle veterans, especially Robert Sobukwe who was kept in isolation for years.

Signal Hill

After our trip up Table Mountain, we visited Signal Hill - it's so pretty up there

By now we were starving, so we headed to the V&A Waterfront and had a late lunch at Gibson's.  Oh my word, the gourmet burgers and milkshakes (47 kinds to choose from!!) were outstanding!  We rolled out of there with very full tummies
