Discovering Lima

Our trip to Peru and the Amazon Jungle began and ended in Lima.

We did a couple of excursions with Condor travel, all lovely.

One of Lima’s most storied religious sites, the Iglesia de Santo Domingo and its expansive convent are built on land granted to the Dominican Friar Vicente de Valverde, who accompanied Pizarro throughout the conquest and was instrumental in persuading him to execute the captured Inca Atahualpa. Originally completed in the 16th century, this impressive pink church has been rebuilt and remodeled at various points since

and then we did a walk around the city center

of course there was coffee and chocolate involved

we visited the coastline to see the Love Park, (Parque del Amor)

Our fist Pisco Sour of the trip, lemony and tart but delicious

The best Lomo Saltado in Peru!

the city is very old and all the power cables are above ground

Leonie (Lion) and I were renamed by Starbucks

Kuna has the most beautiful Alpaca clothing!
