Hello March. One of my 47 things to do this year is to eat more cupcakes so I visited Charly's Bakery in Cape Town yesterday. Serious disappointment! The website sounds fantastic and the magazine reviews are great, and the cakes are gorgeous. In reality, not so good.
The cakes are beautifully decorated, they are real little works of art, but the taste is dull, bland and boring. The red velvet cupcake was dry as toast, the lamington was even drier, and the chocolate cupcake was average. My search for delicious cupcakes continues...
Alison, the places looks so good, the cupcakes look just as good, sorry that they don't live up to the standards. My mouth is just watering looking at them.
