Weekend in review

Miss Ruby had dental surgery on Friday to remove 2 teeth that were worrying her.  The surgery went well, but she had a bad reaction to the anesthetic (just like her mama does!), so I spent the weekend nursing a sick kitty.  Both her arms were shaved to get the drip in.  She threw up throughout Friday night, was weak and disorientated all of Saturday, and was out chasing lizards by mid-morning on Sunday.  She's now cross with her mama because she still has to have antibiotics twice a day for the next week.

I scrapped on Saturday with Lynn, Linda and Lynette at Wilro Park Baptist Church at an event organised by Lara Hanna and Sharon Coetzer.  It's such a good 'value for money' day, just R385 for 2 double layouts and lunch, and if we pay early, we get a few extra goodies.  Here are the layouts that we did...

And I finished another neck warmer.  I'm actually really enjoying crocheting.  Maybe I'll keep this one for myself...

My girls

My brother Robbie, his wife Tonia and the girls visited me recently.  The pool was the perfect hangout in the summer heat.  Elizabeth loves to swim, and Katie also enjoyed the (very) cold water...

Art Journalling

In-between a bit of decluttering and sipping lots of hot coffee in the cooler weather, I made a little art jounal page...

Just a little spritz of Enmarc spray inks, a dash of washi tape, and some words.  I love these pages.  With important messages to me

Neck Warmer

Remember this ball of wool.........?

Well, it turned into this beautiful neck warmer.  And yes, those are scrapbooking buttons!

I am not a good wool crafter, I can barely knit a row of stitches, and am just slightly better at crocheting. So I am really pleased with how this has turned out. I'm going to give it to my mom, and say a silent fervent prayer that it doesn't fall apart!

Hello April

Hello April.  Hello Autumn.  Hello carpet of golden leaves on the ground and cooler air on my arms.

As the new season starts, I'm grateful for the cooler weather after the scorching African summer.  Spring and Autumn are my 2 favourite seasons of the year - milder weather and the promise of change in the air.

This change in the weather has encouraged me to make some changes on the homefront.  I've started uncluttering at home, and have 2 big bags of clothes to give away.  I threw away 2 bags of old photos that I'll never use (I always tend to print too many photos), and now I just need to organise the remaining photos in my new photo boxes.

There's lots more to do, so my Bold Intentions for April  are:
  1. unclutter and tidy my craft room
  2. get rid of the awful beige office blinds throughout my home, have new wooden blinds installed on some of the windows, and start putting up curtain rails over the rest of the windows
  3. get a quote to redo parts of my garden
  4. re-invite regular walks into my week
In black and white, these tasks are not overwhelming. The hard part is actually doing them in addition to working full day.

What are YOUR bold intentions for April?
