- feeling so tired after a very hectic week; I'm feeling the need for comfort and rest
- I'm working to catch up after a hectic week, refer above; I'm going to switch off my computer in an hour (promise to self)
- listening to the birds outside at the seed feeder - it comforts me
- living the truth that life is an endless series of ups and downs, remembering that none last forever
- marvelling at how the winter pansies have lasted into summer in the pot in my garden

Layout to share
IDEA BOOKS : I subscribe to Creating Keepsakes magazine and also regularly buy the Scrapbooks etc. magazine. I also blog-hop and surf the internet for layout ideas. Once I've read the magazines, I cut out my favourite layouts and then toss the magazines, otherwise my home would be cluttered with mountains of paper. I paste the layouts into an idea book - a simple spiral-bound note book. I now have a number of these books and they are my go-to source for scrapping inspiration.
My niece, Elizabeth, has become my favourite scrapbook subject. There are very few children in our family, so instead of my usual travel or hiking layouts, the chance to do girly layouts is wonderful! I scraplifted this layout from one of my idea books and love the result...

Mini book
After so many days offline, here is a mini book to share which I made using my new Zutter binding machine. It was quick, simple and easy to make, and it makes a great gift. 2 learning's for the next project - cover the front and back pages with protective plastic before binding, and don't bind the project too tightly. Otherwise, I am really happy with the results.
the final product - a gift for my mom
simple pages using my beloved Martha Stewart punches
the neat binding rings on the last page
Technology meltdown
Have been struggling with technology for the last 2 weeks and have not been able to load any blog posts - soooo irritating!!

Project update
I am enrolled in Melody Ross' Soul Restoration online workshop (see http://www.bravegirlsclub.com/). In America, the girls spend a few days in the mountains and complete this workshop. Here in South Africa, I work all day and try and focus on soul restoration in the evenings and on the weekends...not ideal.
I'm not loving the project because it just feels like another job to do. This weekend, I would have preferred to be scrapbooking some photo's. However, there are valuable lessons along the way, so I will finish the project.
