Scrapbook layouts

Here are a few more scrapbook layouts from our recent retreat, as well as a few other photos...

Lynn and I have been friends for evah!

Linda is the youngest member of the Scrap Addicts group; we're keeping her around to help us when we're old and gray and then we'll be known as the Zimmerframe scrapbooking gang!

Lynn gave us each a gift of beautiful socks with hearts on them,
and a box of vanilla latte's

Lynette designed the layout above as her scrap kit for everyone - gorgeous!

the layout above is one of my favourites from the week of scrapbooking

Scrapbook layouts

I don't think it's possible for me to ever get 'up to date' with my scrapbook pages, but that's ok.  My goal is not to get up to date, despite a whole week of scrapbooking and 52 completed pages.  My goal is to enjoy scrapbooking, to play with the supplies and photos and embellishments, to be inspired by the Scrap Addicts and share ideas, to have a record of the ordinary and special days of my life.

I really get a good feeling when I think about my baby nieces looking at their scrapbook albums in 20 or 30 years' time, and seeing photos of themselves as little people growing up.

Here are some of the layouts that I completed on the scrapbooking retreat last week....

This was one of my favourite pages from the weekend.  I made this paper doll a very long time ago (when paper dolls were still fashionable in scrapbooking!), and it fitted perfectly with the swimming page for Elizabeth

I so appreciate the Scrap Addicts group!  I learn so much from them, and it's not all about scrapbooking.  I have been instructed to use eye cream to reduce my wrinkles, and much advice was shared about the aches, pains and occasional itches (don't ask!) associated with ageing

Leonie created this awesome layout of her trip to Dubai.  She is the queen of embellishments, and finishes off her pages perfectly

Labyrinth

During our week of scrapbooking, Lynn and I discovered a beautiful labyrinth at the nearby youth center.  It was such a surprise - we've walked and driven past the youth center so many times and never knew what beauty lay behind the hedge.  It also had huge wind chimes and a zen garden.  We loved visiting there in the late afternoons.

Scrabooking Retreat

I spent the whole of last week scrapbooking at Good Shepherd with the Scrap Addicts - total bliss!

Our June scrap challenge - everyone designed a double page layout, which they provided in kit form for all the ladies.  Our Scrap Addicts group is sooo talented!

The best things about scrapbooking for a week:
* scrapbooking for a week
* catching up and getting a lot of pages done (52 completed pages and another 6 pages that just need photos!!)
*  spending time with my special friends
*  great conversations
*  not having to cook, clean, work or drive in traffic every day
*  slow, gentle days
*  the gorgeous view over the dam
*  going for a walk every afternoon

The worst things about scrapbooking for a week:
*  missing Ruby
*  constant back ache
*  very cold bathrooms in the old convent
*  barking dogs at night

I LOVED this week away, and hope that we can make it an annual event!
